• 120 Years Strong

For 120 years, YWCA Jamestown has been a place of hope, safety, and opportunity. From our earliest days, women in Jamestown have worked together to empower each other and advance justice. Today, that mission remains—and we invite you to be part of it. We are not a gym. But together, we build strength that lasts.

  • Get Ready for the Coldest Night of the Year

Brrr…it’s cold out there. On February 28, 2026 be a part of The Coldest Night of the Year in support of YWCA Jamestown’s Empower Her Housing Program. Team up, fundraise, walk, and take a moment to look closer... because it’s cold out there.

Our Programs ↘

YWCA Jamestown provides direct services, empowerment programming, and advocacy to support marginalized individuals and families, especially women and girls of color, while working to challenge structural barriers to equity.

  • Child Care & Afterschool

At YWCA Jamestown, we offer high-quality, nurturing childcare and engaging afterschool programs that support every child’s development. With caring staff, age-appropriate activities, and a focus on safety and learning, we provide a supportive space for children to grow, explore, and thrive—while giving parents peace of mind.

  • Social Justice

Our Social Justice Programs are rooted in the mission and community voice. Through the I.D.E.A. Coalition (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access) and additional initiatives like cultural heritage events, community book reads, and DEI workshops, we create space for learning, connection, and action. Together, we’re building a more just and inclusive Jamestown.

  • Empower Her Housing

Empower Her Housing supports women and families experiencing homelessness with safe, stable housing and personalized case management. We focus on building pathways to independence by connecting participants with resources, community support, and compassionate guidance—because every woman deserves a place to call home and the tools to thrive.

  • Supervised Visitation & Safe Exchange

YWCA Jamestown provides a safe, neutral, and supportive environment for court-ordered supervised visitation and safe exchange of children between parents. Our trained staff prioritize the physical and emotional safety of all participants, helping families maintain important connections while reducing conflict and ensuring a secure setting for children.

  • Young Women Choosing Action

Young Women Choosing Action is an empowerment program designed to support young women through a trauma-informed, social justice lens. The program provides advocacy, leadership development, and a safe space to explore identity, build confidence, and take action in their communities. Participants gain the tools and support they need to lead with purpose and create positive change.

  • Community Health Awareness Team (CHAT)

At YWCA Jamestown, CHAT empowers local youth with the knowledge, skills, and resources to make informed, responsible health decisions. Our evidence-based programs reduce the risk of teen pregnancy, HIV, and STDs while promoting healthy relationships and positive futures

  • Housing Navigation

Our Housing Navigation program is designed to support individuals and families who qualify for Medicaid in finding safe, stable, and affordable housing. Housing instability can have significant impacts on health and well-being, and through the New York State 1115 Medicaid Waiver program, we help address these critical needs as part of a comprehensive approach to health care.
