2024 Giving Tuesday & Annual Campaign
Giving Tuesday
On Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024: Make a Difference with YWCA
Giving Tuesday is a global movement that encourages generosity and community spirit. Celebrated annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the United States, it follows the consumer-focused events of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The day is dedicated to giving back, whether through charitable donations, volunteer efforts, or acts of kindness.
Started in 2012 as a simple idea to inspire people to do good, Giving Tuesday has since grown into a worldwide phenomenon. It serves as a reminder of the power of collective generosity, with millions of individuals, nonprofits, businesses, and communities participating to make a difference in the lives of others.
The goal of Giving Tuesday is to transform the holiday season into a time of giving and gratitude, fostering unity and support for causes that create positive change. Whether by contributing to a favorite nonprofit, organizing local initiatives, or simply helping someone in need, Giving Tuesday is about using the power of generosity to strengthen communities.
On Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024, join us in supporting YWCA, an organization dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
Your contribution can help YWCA continue its vital work, from providing safe housing and essential services to survivors of domestic violence to offering programs that uplift women and families in our community.
Every dollar makes a difference. Together, we can create lasting change and build a stronger, more equitable future.
Thank you for standing with YWCA this Giving Tuesday. Together, we thrive!
Dear Friends and Supporters
of YWCA Jamestown,
As we face a world that continues to challenge the values of justice, equality, and unity, it is more important than ever to stand together to support the women in our community. I am reaching out today to ask for your support of the YWCA Jamestown and our mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
For over 100 years, YWCA Jamestown has been a cornerstone of support and empowerment for women in our community. Through the decades, we have continuously adapted to meet the changing needs of women offering a space where leadership is nurtured, and opportunities are created for sisterhood, solidarity, and growth. Our services have expanded over the years to ensure that women, particularly those who face the greatest challenges, have the resources and support to thrive.
Now, more than ever, we need your help to continue this vital work.
Today, we are focused on investing in the next generation of leaders—young women who need encouragement, education, and opportunities to build the skills they need to make a difference.
Through our Young Women Choosing Action leadership and social justice training programs, we are empowering young women to take on leadership roles and be the change-makers our community needs. But this work cannot happen without your support. We need your financial contribution to ensure that we can continue offering these critical programs, provide a safe space for women to gather, and build the future leaders of tomorrow.
With your donation, we can continue providing a foundation for young women to have
hope—to know that they CAN and WILL be our leaders, our advocates, and our champions. By giving to YWCA Jamestown, you are helping to create a community where ALL WOMEN can THRIVE, regardless of their background or circumstances.
I ask that you consider making a financial contribution to support our mission and the young women who depend on our programs. Together, we can ensure that every woman in our community has the tools and opportunities they need to succeed.
Thank you for your support. We couldn’t do this work without you.
Your generosity will directly impact the lives of women in our community, and for that, we are deeply grateful. We are committed to doing the work until the world sees women, girls and people of color the way we do:
EQUAL POWERFUL UNSTOPPABLE!
Sincerely,
Amanda Gesing
